ber 12, 2006 - Ilakaka, Madagascar. Lucky miners rush to sell their finding for whatever they can get, to buyers, mostly strangers from Pakistan, Thailand and Sri Lanka. When asked, they said not having a clue of the value of their finding. "The buyers and their employees fixe the price" said one of them. Strangers come in Ilakaka for three months at a time and open little precious stones shop, with the security of bodyguard and counter with metal grids. When they leave, they bring their raw material and complete their business at home.
