January 2014 - Kangiqsualujjuaq, Qc, Canada. Elder Johnny Sam Annanack chops wood that he collected from a neerby forest with grandson Branden Annanack for the pool hall. The pool room was installed in an old abandoned house, that Johnny Sam, from the village, renovated so that young people could have a place to get together without being outside, all night long or in "smoking shacks" behind houses. Overcrowded houses remain problematic as it is not uncommon to see extended family of 10-12 people, and even more, living under the same roof.
